Message from president
As I reflect on 2023, I can’t help but think of Wally and the legacy he left for all of us. His accomplishments and passion for excellence have left a mark on the entire Mantis team. He taught us all to make sure that every job we do is done right and we have never forgotten that. It’s an absolute pleasure to come to Mantis every day surrounded by the most amazing team I have ever worked with in my entire career.
Over the past 4 years we have accomplished so much, including new machines, process improvements, product innovations and much more. The desire to make sure that everything that leaves Mantis leaves with perfection is noticed by our customers, and we are very proud of that.
Toolgrid™ has revolutionized the way people organize their tools. With the support and dedication of all our customers, we are now distributing Toolgrid™ all over the world! And we have only just begun, our 3D printers are constantly running as we continue to innovate and grow.
Over the past couple of years, we have travelled to many shows throughout the United States, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Japan, and China. We met hundreds of distributors, end users and customers. It has been very rewarding to hear the constant positive feedback, and to learn how we can continue to innovate to make Toolgrid™ the best tool organization system in the world.

Our Founder
Wally Maruzzo
Founded in 1986 by Walter Fiore Maruzzo, an immigrant from Taurasi, Italy.
Wally would talk about how hard he had it as a child growing up in Italy. It wasn’t easy, his family was very poor and there was little work, and even less food. He remembered going to bed without any thing to eat, many a night.
After arriving in Canada in June of 1955 he fell in love with this country. His first job at 9 years old was at a gas station at Bronte and Lakeshore. He was elated to learn, that if he just worked hard, he could buy food and never feel hungry again. And that he did.
Wally was an innovator, teacher, designer, visionary, genius and pioneer. Wally would often say
“every job worth doing, is worth doing right”.
He made it his mission to work hard and forge ahead with a passion for excellence with every project he was involved in.
As the business continued to grow, Wally set plans in motion for a new expansion in 2018.
He was so proud, as he watched the new 27,000sqf addition being erected.
Sadly, Wally passed away in January 2020, only months before completion, but his dedicated family at Mantis will continue his legacy, as we all loved him, and miss him dearly.
